My LIFE
Well, it has been a relatively relaxing week for me. As I peer out of my window in the early hours of the morning, I see teenagers dressed in uniform and carrying that burden over their shoulders as they drag their feet to school. The depressing looks on their faces tell it all and some even resort to staying under the void decks near their school to have a puff. Then I think to myself," Ha! I don't have to go through this yet!." The week was quite good and I completed the reading of In His Steps and I must say it is quite an edifying book and those who are interested in learning about pure discipleship should read it. Other than that, I would like to apologize sincerely to Caritas Lun for not keeping to the end of the promise of looking through your work and doing it for you. I'm very sorry and I would also like to congratulate Charmaine Low for doing a good job in chairing the LTF meeting on sat despite living in fear the past few days after learning she has to chair. And now for the crunch time, my match review on the Aston Villa vs Man Utd, FA Cup 3rd round match. Well needless to say, by the time you are reading this now, I'm sure many of you would have read online that Man Utd beat Aston Villa 2-0 away. After a lackluster display in the first 70 mins, save for some good passing and attempted shots, Sir Alex Ferguson played his ace card and his ace saved the day for MU at Villa Park. The introduction of Wayne Rooney in the 70th minute to replace Prak Ji Sung was the turning point of the game. He brought with him into play his enthusiasm for the game, his burst of energy and his hunger for goal. He pressured the defence giving them little time to think of their next move and he was constantly a thorn to their necks. As said by his England team mate and fellow United footballer, Rio Ferdinand, "Wayne is a fantastic footballer with bundles of energy. He may have missed the last couple of games [with a virus], but he looked very fresh when he came on and I think he was the difference, ... , When Wayne came on, the openings started to come and thankfully we managed to stick the ball in the back of the net. Not only did he render praise from his team mate, he also recieved due recognition from Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United, "He changed the game," declared the boss. "He brought a sudden thrust of enthusiasm and direct play through the way he attacked their defenders. We've been looking for a new Solskjaer to come off the bench for a few years now," joked the boss. "No really though, he made a heck of a difference when he came on." So now we all await patiently the next draw for the 4th round of the FA cup.Reminder: Have you all read Matthew 6 today? Well it is indeed a blessing to be able to listen to John Piper's sermons when I'm on the bus or on any means of transport. His sermons are powerful and you will be deeply edified.
